Bagoaz aurrera!

Lehen egunak lasaiak izan ziren taldekide berrientzat. Harrapaketa gutxiko egunek ordea, irla eta taldekideak ezagutzeko aukera ematen dute eta oraingoan ez zen gutxiago izan! Bisitaren bat edo beste egin zioten gune intermarealeko olagarroari eta kanpamentuan bertan eurek be, eraztundutako lertxuntxo itzainen bisita jaso zuten. Los primeros días fueron tranquilos para los Izareños del segundo turno. Los días de pocas captura sin embargo, dejan la oportunidad de conocer la isla y a los miembros del grupo, y esta vez no fue menos. Durante la semana, visitaron además al pulpo de la zona intermareal y les sorprendió la visita de alguna garcilla bueyera en el propio campamento. Después de unos días de buen tiempo, tuvieron otros días de fuertes vientos y tormentas, con lo que durante la mayor parte del día las redes tuvieron que permanecer cerradas. Después de la tormenta llegó la calma, y esto trajo más movimiento de aves a la isla, por lo que entre anillamiento y anillamiento tuvieron que ir preparando las cosas para darles la vez a los integrantes del tercer gurpo. Con la sensación de haber aprovechado muy bien la semana pero con pena de abandonar la isla dieron la bienvenida a Paco Camacho, Lola Guerrero, Nati Aguilera y a Amaia Mendinueta, quienes cogieron el testigo con ganas. En seguida se hicieron al campamento y a la estación los nuevos Izareños, y fue cuestión de muy poco tiempo que encontrasen el posadero preferido del halcón peregrino de la isla. Pudieron hacerle fotos incluso disfrutando de su presa. En cuanto a capturas os primeros días del nuevo grupo han sido muy tranquilos, aunque han capturado un mosquitero con anilla proveniente de Rusia y han sido testigos de la migración de varias aves marinas. En sólo hora y media, llegaron a contar hasta 300 alcatraces, 5 agujas colipintas y algún págalo parásito. ¡A ver cómo les van los próximos días!

The first days were quite calm for the new islanders. Nevertheless, many things can be done in days with few captures, such as getting to know the new members of the group or discovering the island. This time was no different and they could also visit the octopus living in the intertidal zone or receive a couple of visits of a cattle egret ringed by the previous group. After some good-weathered days, some windy and rainy days came, so the ringing station had to stay closed most of the time, but as after the storm the calm settles in, the sun came back and brought more migratory birds to the island. It was hard to say good-bye but they had to let the new members come in. Paco Camacho, Lola Guerrero, Nati Aguilera and Amaia Mendinueta were whiling to start their week at the island, and soon they got comfortable at the campsite. During the next days they discovered the peregrine falcon of the island likes to spend it time and they were even able to take some pictures feeding on its prey. The captures were not very high during these days, but they captured a russian willow warblers and they also witnessed migration of some seabirds. In just one hour they counted up to 300 northern gannet, 5 Bar-tailed godwit and a Parasitic jaeger. Let’s see how are the following days for them!
